On the 20th, we took a train from Irkutsk to Baikalsk, because we wanted to celebrate Philipps birthday at lake Baikal.
Leaving Irkutsk in snowy weather:
Baikalsk is a small town at lake Baikal, that was built around a huge paper mill. The factory was closed in 2013 because it became unprofitable and was polluting the lake. Because of this, the town had a series of economic crises, and the people who remain try to make a living from tourism now.
